Garam slipper shoes from Monsoon

garam-shoes.jpg
With their leather soles and sequined uppers, these slipper shoes from Monsoon are in the style of traditional Indian khussa shoes. I love this style for wearing around the house, although they're pretty enough to make me want to wear them outside, too. At £30, these are more expensive than the khussas you can pick up on eBay and elsewhere, which you can usuually find for less than £10, so it could be worth taking a look at them in person to find out if they're worth the extra expense. You'll find them at Monsoon.

To answer my own question from the headline, I think almost anything's better than plastic shoes, so while I wouldn't wear these ones myself, it's nice to see Crocs trying something a bit different. These are their "Santa Cruz" pumps and they also

Amaltea cream & mint Two-tone flats

amaltea.jpg
These pretty leather sandals by Amaltea look so delicate that I can imagine walking in them would probably feel a bit like having petals on your feet. I love the way the leather twists flower-like around the toe, and that mint ice cream green is a perfect choice for summer.
