Each season Toga seems to find a new way to rearrange colors, textiles and silhouettes to make a completely unique fashion statement. A mix of unlikely textiles and colors gives the exquisitely tailored clothing a deconstructed look. We haven't checked in on the label in a while so we were delighted to see an e-mail pop in our mailbox announcing the label has been picked up by LA's Satine--the first time, we believe, the line has been available in the US.

Azita was kind enough to share with us shots from the lookbook of Bless No. 36: Nothingneath.

A good bit before Ikea wandered its way there, Erie Basin had already found a loyal following in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The one-of-a-kind shop scours the country near and far to find chic, moody, and yes a bit eerie examples of jewelry and objects from the 18th and early 19th centuries. More recently they've been adding modern collections that have the same Gothic feel as their antique finds.
We've been admiring the store from afar for well over a year, ogling their impeccably curated online shop. We finally had a chance to visit the shop for ourselves to add it to the New York shopping guide.
Ogle the online shop yourselves but, if you do get the opportunity, we encourage you to get out to Red Hook and see the real thing.

Rochambeau is the Egyptian name of the rock-paper-scissors game. It's also now the name of the latest promising menswear label to come out of New York. Creative director Michael Venker graduated Parsons in 2007 and was the recipient of the prestigious Golden Thimble award. It was at Parsons' senior thesis show that Venker met partners Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler and so Rochambeau was born.
A study between the push and pull of minimal modernism and the intricate detailing of classic menswear, it's no surprise that the Spring 2009 collection was inspired by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Kuma weaves intricate patterns into his consummately modern structures. Similarly, the details in the Rochambeau collection are an essential but not overwhelming part of what is a thoroughly modern and primarily minimal take on menswear.

Rochambeau's Fall 2009 collection will be available at Oak.
